Product Owner

Throughout my career, I consistently held the responsibility for the success of various products. This journey began with managing cantonal health insurance reductions, developing an investment strategies management for a pension fund company, and following an investment management software for a major bank.

Later on, I begun with the agile methodology SCRUM. I took charge of an enterprise portal for a large telecommunications company, assumed product ownership for a Swiss electronic identity provider, and ultimately led the development of a comprehensive sports events and participants management system, complete with online registration platform for athletes and real time results.

In all of my recent roles as a Product Owner, the agile approach to software development has been an inherent and established practice. Many times I had to defend the methodology by explaining the advantages it brings. I have visited many courses to strenghten my product owner skills, like story mapping techniques and how to write good and unequivocable user stories.

My excellent communication skills always supported me bridging between ever-evolving client requirements and management strategies, writing them into clear user stories, and orchestrating their efficient development. My approach has always been geared towards getting it right the first time!

My deep understanding of technical aspects is particularly valuable. This knowledge facilitates gaining the support of developers and enables the formulation of precise and feasible requirements.

Experience & Expertise

SwissSign Group - SwissID

app development

As Scrum Product Owner at SwissSign Group AG, I was responsible for the local and nearshore backend, frontend and mobile development teams with a total of 19 developers. In this role I was the link between the executive board, product managers and the development teams. Furthermore, I was responsible for the development budget, continuous process improvement, and the cycle- and sprint planning to ensure uninterrupted and efficient development, including the releases.

Next to in-depth product and technical knowledge, I therefore also had to rely on strong C-level communication skills. And, with SwissSign being active in a highly regulated market, it goes without saying that knowledge and adherence to the corresponding security and compliance requirements was as well a must.

Datasport - Events  and Marketing Management

In the initial two years of the project, in addition to my role as Project Manager, I also served as the Product Owner for one of the products undergoing redevelopment at Datasport: the Events and Marketing Management. This portal was designed for Sport Service Managers and Organizers to efficiently manage their events. For this purpose, I have introduced the SCRUM agile framework.

Our objective was to craft an intuitive interface with a shallow learning curve. Collaborating with two Business Owners, a team of 12 developers, and a designer, we worked towards this goal using agile software development. Eight months into the project, the first customer already began using it. By the end of two years, 40% of our customers had migrated, and after three years, an impressive 90% had made the transition. This success was very gratifying.
